I wasn't sure how real this was last night, but will.i.am was being interviewed by hologram. For real. It looks just like when the Star Trek characters would get beamed up. Watch will.i.am's hologram interview in the first video (fast-forward about 20%), and then watch an explanation of the technology in the second video.

After being swung around the dance floor by her arms and legs, 82-year-old Cloris Leachman gives a crazy interview on Good Morning America to talk about the joys of "Cloreography." Why is that just because she's old everything she says is hysterical? The poor girl can't get a word in edge-wise because as soon as she opens her mouth, the people around her bust out laughing.

Oprah just gave out the new Kindle 2 to her entire audience. The rest of us have to wait for Christmas. That was a hint. To my loved ones.

Now, she just offered a coupon code to give her home viewers a $50 discount. But when I went on her site, the discount was for the ORIGINAL Kindle! She was holding the much smaller and much NEWER Kindle 2. Bait and switch, is what that is. Jeff Bezos went on Oprah trying to clear his warehouse to make room for the new version. Shady.

Via The Daily Beast:

The best gadgets have yet to be released, including:

Amazon Kindle 2
When Amazon announced the breakthrough Kindle electronic book reader, Newsweek proclaimed on its cover that the device was "the future of reading." Now, eleven months later, wired bibliophiles are seeking a Kindle that's even more futuristic—or at least, one that fixes the annoying design and user-interface defects of the original.

Motorola's Android phone
The T-Mobile G1, the first smartphone to run Google's "Android" operating system for mobile phones, is now in stores. But other mobile phone manufacturers are readying their own Android headsets, including Motorola, whose phone BusinessWeek reports "will boast an iPhone-like touch screen, a slide-out qwerty keyboard, and a host of social-network-friendly features."

From After Elton's Angry Puppy Video Blog (Your Gay Guide to Sci Fi, Horror, Gaming, Tech, Comics, and Stuff We Like)":

"In this week's Angry Puppy, Marc and Lee try to talk about Heroes and The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but end up in a discussion on when and what they can forgive in sci fi writing. Also in this episode, they review the gay horror short In the Closet and Milo Ventimiglia's gore-iffic Pathology (now on DVD)."

These guys give really funny, really smart, and really dead-on critiques of all the best TV shows. They love "True Blood!"

And I learned that Milo Ventimiglia shows his butt in "Pathology."

Check out their vlog after the jump!

I included a mention of this in the Bar Snacks section, but, after thinking about it, I've decided to gather together an entire post.

Arts Technica has an exhaustive review of the phone.

Engadget has a review with pictures.

And then Gizmodo has an exhaustive review and really great pictures: "There is a lot riding on the shoulders of T-Mobile's G1 Android phone. In some ways, it carries the collective hopes of Linux, open source and Google fans everywhere. It's open, collaborative and community-based, in other words, everything the iPhone and Windows Mobile aren't."
